Construction 7

75 cm x 55 cm
29.52 in x 21.65 in

Original (watercolour painting and coloured pencil drawing on Saunders Waterford paper)

The first abstract in the Construction series, where diagonals and shapes are explored as a stand-alone element, excluding the figure. No horizontal lines has been used as a way to express dynamics and tensions, but to stabilize and ground the composition verticals has been added to the diagonals.

A restricted colour palette allows colours to become an independent element, and the colour blue is idealistic and calm, while orange symbolize energy and enthusiasm and demands attention.

Construction 7 represents a force or energy that wish to contract and expand at the same time, and the surface is built with geometric shapes such as tringles and diamond shapes, while the centre include squares; a symbol of stability.
